Public Centre for Mental Health Rekem
Providing quality health care
The Public Centre for Mental Health Rekem is one of the largest psychiatric institutions in Belgium. With a psychiatric hospital and a psychiatric nursing home the centre focuses on 3 groups: adults, elderly and forensic patients.
An internal reorganisation with a new structure and a new name, the end of phase 1 of the building master plan, changes within the Flemish Community and the wish for a more regional profiling. In other words: the corporate identity needs a facelift.
Strategy and approach
Lemento analyses, designs and implements the new identity. First, a working group (with psychologists, therapists, nurses, secretaries, Prima Go-members,…) and a steering committee (management) are established. At the end of three workshops, the board chooses a logo. Then, Lemento develops applications for correspondence, publications and an extensive way finding system. The new logo is presented to the staff on the 2006 New Year’s reception. In the following months all carriers are made to use and the printing is contracted out to the printing office. In May and June the staff is trained during staff meetings on the how and why of the corporate identity, guidelines instructions, how to use templates, … At the official opening of the new building by the minister, media and public are informed on the new corporate identity. On 1 July 2006 all printing is finished and the new corporate identity is a fact. Also the adapted website went live.
